It’s been about 2 years since I last blogged! Covid19 has changed everything as we once knew it. I hope you have managed to navigate a healthy path through the pandemic and the world events.

As for me…I am grateful to have good health. I continue to practice daily for 2 hours or more, commute via bicycle, and try to maintain a healthy diet during a small window of time.

Three performance tours (West Coast, East Coast, Europe) were canceled in 2020 but I am looking forward to a national performance tour in spring 2022. It will celebrate my 45th year of taiko playing although in actuality it will be my 47th year. Kaoru, Abe, Sumie, plus one (TBA) and I will be touring to Macon, GA; Fredericksburg, VA; DC; Amherst, MA; Philadelphia, PA; Slippery Rock, PA; Central Ohio; Oberlin, OH; Urbana-Champaign, IL; Minneapolis, MN; Phoenix, AZ; Tucson, AZ; Stanford, CA; Oxnard, CA; Los Angeles, CA; and Beaverton, OR. Hope to see many of you somewhere along the way.

Things are starting to open up ever so slowly here in Hawaii…slower than on the mainland. But I am thankful that my family and I are well and continuing to move forward.

BEST WISHES to you all for a happy holiday season. Stay safe and Be Well.
